Experience
Many times, a student will have difficulty with a certain subject because of the negative stigma the student has attached to it, either because of its rumored difficulty or negative memories associated with it in the past. The responsibility falls to tutors to work one-on-one with students to help to remove these negative connections and associate the subject with positive emotions like discovery and success. This helps give students the self-confidence they need to succeed. I am a graduate of George Mason University, and I am presently involved in Physics as a part of my career. I find it is exceptionally easy to teach this subject because it is a passion of mine, and passion has the tendency to become contagious! I strive to inspire my students to look at the concepts of Physics as a language. Learning its rules and nuances is no different from learning English as a child, and it's just as easy. One of my specialties is Numerical Analysis, and I find this subject a joy to teach. In order to succeed as I have in the area of Physics, one must not only be well-versed in scientific concepts but also writing and verbal skills, which are areas I can also help students strengthen as they conduct experiments and research.
